For students writing a project work, dissertation or thesis

Write the thesis one section at a time

Your department's chapter structure, notes on what each section must contain, and a supervisor who can follow the work as it is written.

Supervisors join through an invitation from their student.

Chapter one

How the work is organised

A project is laid out the way your department expects it, from background to recommendations, so you always know which section comes next.

  1. 1

    Set up your project

Enter your working title and pick the chapter template your department uses. Every chapter and section is created for you.

  2. 2

Write one section at a time

Each section opens with a short note on what it must do. Every save is kept, so you can return to any earlier version.

  3. 3

    Ask for a review

On the problem statement and on the objectives and research questions, get notes on what is missing and what to do next.

  4. 4

    Submit each chapter

Your supervisor reads it, comments beside the sections, and approves the chapter or sends it back with changes.

Chapter two

Feedback in the margin

Reviews point to what a section is missing and ask the questions a supervisor would ask. They never hand back a rewritten paragraph, and anything that repeats your sentences is removed before you see it.

Statement of the problem

Mobile money has become the main way small traders receive payments in Ghana. Traders in Kejetia Market, Kumasi, now handle a growing share of their sales through mobile wallets. However, many traders still face difficulties when they use these services for their business.

Earlier studies have looked at mobile money adoption among salaried workers and university students. Little is known about how market traders keep records of these transactions, and this study sets out to examine that question.

Chapter three

For supervisors

Follow the work as it develops instead of receiving a full chapter on the deadline.

Read any section

The latest saved text, or any earlier version with its date.

Comment beside the text

Comments sit next to the section they refer to. The student is notified by email.

Sign off chapters

Approve a submitted chapter or send it back with a note. It stays locked while it is with you.

See how it was written

Each project keeps a log of every save, review and comment, which also helps when authorship is questioned.

Begin with the problem statement

It is the section most drafts get wrong, and every other chapter depends on it.
